Market research companies need to ensure that they are getting precise information. The more they know about you the better, so make sure your profile is fully completed. To check your surveys are reliable they will run a few initial questions by you to make sure your responses are truthful and accurate. Always respond honestly with info that matches your profile otherwise the survey will quickly end, saying you do not qualify or the quota is now full.

Consider joining sites that don’t pay cash.

Cash is obviously the preferred payment method for most people but joining a quality site that pays you in vouchers for stores you use regularly is the next best thing. Receiving vouchers for names like Tesco or Sainsburys could mean you make a big saving on your monthly food budget leaving you free to spend the cash on whatever you like.

Join the right number of survey sites.

While this sounds pretty obvious, most people join either too few or too many. Join too many and you won’t be able to answer survey invitations which may have a negative effect on what you are sent. Join too few and you could be “losing” money. Most people find 4-6 a good number.

Be organised.

Treat surveys as a business and allocate part of your day to doing surveys. Market research companies appreciate reliable responses so keep up-to-date with emails. Create a new email account just for survey email, making sure the junk filters are set low.

Don’t give up!

The majority of people don’t make much doing surveys either because they join the wrong sites and/or because they don’t see any returns quickly and give up too soon. You are unlikely to see any income for a couple of months until you have reached the payout threshold. Then, providing you have joined a number of good websites, you should start receiving regular rewards. Remember that you are investing your time and effort and it will be worth the wait.
