Survey FAQs
1. What are online surveys?
Surveys are forms that you are emailed. You then complete them and submit. Market research companies are using this method more and more as they can collect detailed information quickly from a large number of participants. This data is used to test and improve new and existing products and services and their marketing.
2. Do I need any knowledge, experience etc?
No! You complete a profile on joining each site. The market research company will then know the type of person you are, marital status, number of children, your interests, etc and will send you the appropriate surveys on things you would typically use in your daily life, such as toothpaste, consumer electricals, holidays …. All you need is an opinion.
3. How much does each survey pay? How much can I make?
Anything from 25p to £50 per survey. That said, most will pay £1.00 to £5.00 for each completed survey. You can join as many sites as you wish, so providing you are sent surveys regularly it really depends on the amount of time you can spend doing them.
4. When do I get paid for taking surveys?
Almost all surveys sites have a payout threshold. This is a payout limit in your account which is typically £30 or £50. Once you have done enough surveys and reached the limit you will be sent the payment.
5. How do I get paid?
Cash payment, ie money not vouchers or prize draw entry, is made via Paypal, bank transfer or by cheque. If you don’t have a paypal account you can open one online in under 10 minutes. It will not cost anything and is very secure.
6. How long will it take to complete a survey?
Typically a survey will take from 2 to 30 minutes. Usually the more time and effort involved, the higher the reward you receive.
7. Can I join non-UK survey sites?
Yes. The surveys featured on GetPaidOnlineSurveys.co.uk are open to all UK residents over 18 years of age. Payment from foreign survey sites is made just like UK ones, via Paypal, bank transfer or cheque. All will make a small charge for converting currency into pounds sterling if payment is not already in pounds. If you receive a cheque from a US bank in dollars you can pay it into your bank account just like a normal UK cheque (there may be a small fee for this service).
8. Are there fees or costs involved?
No! There are no fees or charges from GetPaidOnlineSurveys.co.uk and none of the survey sites featured on this website will ask you for any payment whatsoever.
9. How many surveys can I take?
There is no limit. The majority of legitimate market research companies and survey sites send invitations to take surveys about once a week. A number of "marketing" survey sites will send out a few surveys a day designed to make you purchase a product. We do not list these types of "survey" sites. Be sure to join more than one or two sites if you want to make a significant amount of money.
10. Once I sign-up, when should I expect to receive my first paying survey?
You should get an invitation to participate in a paid survey within 2-3 days. Some sites have surveys available immediately.
11. Can I register more than once with different email addresses?
No. Only one account per person is allowed. A few sites even state that only one user from each pc (internet connection) is permitted. This is checked via cookies.
12. Will my personal information be shared with anyone else?
No. All the survey sites listed on this site are well-established, legitimate market research companies. Each has a detailed privacy statement on their website stating they will not share any personal information.
13. Why do I have to do a Profile when I join?
You should always complete the profile when you join any site. They need this info to make sure they are sending the survey to the right target market. You will get more survey invitations and make more money per survey if you complete these profiles. Companies are willing to pay more if they can match their surveys to their consumers. The more they know about you, the better the chances for a match.
14. How can I make sure I get all my survey invitations?
Spam filters on email accounts often block survey invitations. We recommend opening a new email account and setting those filters to low or zero. The downside is you will get loads of spam.
15. Do I have to pay taxes on my survey income?
We recommend checking with your accountant or a tax advisor. Survey income is considered earned as an "independent contractor" not as an employee so no taxes are withheld from your payments.
16. Why is your service free?
Market research companies pay us for referring new members. However, we believe that the interests of visitors to our site are best served by a policy of honesty and openness. Companies want to know what you think, are willing to pay you for it, and pay us to find you.
